Residential/Domicile requirement:

The Residential/Domicile requirements for admission to different degree-level Engineering/Technology, Pharmacy & Architecture courses in West Bengal are listed below:

Candidates seeking admission in Government Engineering/Technology and Pharmacy Colleges, Reserve category seats of any Institution, including TFW Category Seats must be the domicile of West Bengal and accordingly, submission of a Domicile Certificate in the prescribed format from competent authority is mandatory before their selection in any of those Institutions.

Procedure for Submission of Domicile Certificate:
The ‘Blank Proforma’ is available on the WBJEE official website. The proforma as applicable to the candidate has to be downloaded and two copies are to be printed on A4 size white paper.
Get both copies of the Certificate filled in properly and duly authenticated/signed by a competent Authority as per the list provided in Section 5.3.3. The Duplicate Copy of the Certificate is to be retained with the Office of the Issuing Authority for future reference/verification.
The candidate must retain the Original Certificate and shall have to produce it at the Reporting Centre during counselling and admission.

Get the Certificate filled in properly and duly authenticated/signed by a competent Authority as per the list provided below:

For PROFORMA ‘a1’ and PROFORMA ‘b’:
It must be signed and certified by any of the following competent authorities from the Central Government or State Government having local jurisdiction over the place of the permanent residence of the concerned candidate or his/her parents, as the case may be, viz.

1. District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Deputy Magistrate, Deputy Collector, Sub–divisional Officer, Block Development Officer.
2. Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police, Sub Divisional Police Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police
3. Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Police Commissionerate.
4. Judicial Magistrate of any rank or position in the concerned district or Metropolitan locality or Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta or Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
5. Corporation Area – Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Joint Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner.
6. Assistant Secretary or above in the Secretariat to the Government of West Bengal (including GTA) or Central Government.
7. Deputy Director or above in the Directorate to the Government of West Bengal or Central Government.

The Duplicate Copy of the Certificate is to be kept with the Office of the Issuing Authority for future reference/verification.

Note: Domicile certificates issued by any elected people’s representative such as municipal commissioner, Councillor of Municipal Corporation/ Municipality, Member of a three-tier Panchayat system or GTA, MLA, or MP are not acceptable for WBJEE-2021.

For PROFORMA a2
Domicile certificate in this proforma may be obtained from the Head of the Institution from which the candidate has passed his/her 10+2 examination or will appear in his/her 10+2 examination. Such a certificate may be issued based on verification of the school education record of the candidate. The proforma for such a certificate is provided on the website and may be downloaded.

Some important points about WBJEE TFWS

– It must be noted that as per the TFW scheme, for all the government as well as private and self-financing Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy colleges, a maximum of 5% of the sanctioned intake per course is available on a supernumerary basis.
– The selection for the students under the TFW scheme is decided according to the merit and preference of the eligible candidates in WBJEE.
– To avail of this scheme, the students must be a domicile of West Bengal.
– The waiver is only limited to the tuition fee. All other fees have to be paid by the beneficiary.

Important Information

1. TFW seats are shown as a separate choice for every institute or branch, wherever applicable.
2. Fees Acceptance fees as of 2020 are Rs 5000.
3. Procedure for submission of Income Certificate in respect of annual family income in favor of applicant students:
   1. Candidates must submit the ‘Income Certificate’ as provided in the Information Brochure of WBJEE.
   2. The ‘Blank Proforma’ is downloadable in duplicate. Get it downloaded and printed in duplicate on A4 size paper.
   3. The Certificate must be filled in properly and duly authenticated/signed by a Competent Authority.
   4. The Duplicate Copy of the Certificate is to be kept with the Office of the Issuing Authority for future reference/verification in the matter.

   Note: The candidate must retain the original certificate and shall have to produce it at the Reporting Centre during admission.

   Competent Authorities for the issue of Income Certificate in respect of the TFW Scheme are as enlisted below:

   For students from the Urban/rural region:

   • An officer of the State Govt. in the rank of assistant secretary or above in State or Central Govt.
   • District Magistrate
   • Additional District Magistrate
   • Sub-divisional officer
   • Block Development Officer (Mostly Preferred)

   Note: The income certificate issued by any elected people’s representative such as municipal commissioner, councilor of Municipal Corporation / Municipality, or member of a three-tier Panchayat system or GTA, MLA, MP is not acceptable for WBJEE 2024.
