INFORMATION BROCHURE FOR DECENTRALIZED COUNSELING- 2020.

Some Vacant Seats in 1st Year U.G. in Engineering / Technology courses for the session 2020-2021 will
be filled up through Decentralized Counseling as per the Government notification vide 358 -Edn
(T)/10M-86/15 dated 30/11/2020. Accordingly applications in the prescribed format (given in Annexure-1)
are invited through online mode (E-Mail Id: decentralized_counseling @rkmgec.ac.in ) from eligible
candidates along with scan copy (in PDF format) of all original testimonials listed below as per
eligibility criteria within 8th December 2020 up to 10 p.m.
The hard copy of applications along with a self-attested copy of all testimonials listed below can also be
submitted at college office during office hours within 8th December 2020 up to 4.00 p.m.

ELIGIBILITY :
1. The candidate must have a WBJEE-2020 General Merit Rank (GMR).
2. Candidates must pass Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination in General Stream
in the regular class mode of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or
An equivalent examination from a recognized Council/Board.

3. Candidate must be domiciled in West Bengal (Relevant certificate in the specific format should
be produced).
4. Candidate should fulfill all eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions as stipulated by West
Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board in respect of the examination ‘WBJEE-2020’.
5. Provisional admission will be made after verification of relevant documents.
The provisional admission is liable to be canceled if any document is found to
be false later.
6. Admission under SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B/ PH Quota: The candidate shall have to furnish
original and self -attested copies of valid SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PH Certificate in his/her name
issued by the Government of West Bengal (certificate issuing authority should be as mentioned
by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board in respect of the examination ‘WBJEE2020’).
Documents to be brought at the time of counseling.
a) Rank Card issued by WBJEE-2020.
b) Duly filled in admission form (given in Annexure-I) for decentralized counseling, 2020
available with this notice.
c) Admit Card of WBJEE-2020 or its copy.
d) Relevant domicile certificate of West Bengal (in the specific format).
e) Admit-card, Mark-Sheet/ Certificate of Madhyamik Examination (10th Standard) or
equivalent examination.
f) Admit-card, Registration Certificate, Mark-Sheet of H.S. Examination (10+2 standard) or
equivalent examination.
g) SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B/ PH (Original & photo copy).
h) After admission students are directed to submit an anti-ragging declaration and medical fitness
certificate before the commencement of regular classes.
i) Any Photo Identity Proof issued by a Government Agency (Voter ID, ADHAR card, PAN
card, Driving license, etc.).
j) Five recent Colored passport size photos, one of which to be attached on the form.
Candidates are requested to take note of the following things.
a. COUNSELLING AND ADMISSION WILL BE MADE COMPLETELY according to the
WBJEE -2020 GMR rank depending upon the availability of seats.
b. COUNSELLING AND ADMISSION will be held on the same date. Candidates must be
physically present at the college auditorium to take part in the counseling process.
c. Two number of the Merit lists (That is List-I, List-II) will be published in college
website(https://rkmgec.ac.in) on 9th December, 2020
d. First round of Counseling for Merit List-I candidates will be held on 12th December 2020 at
1.00 p.m at the college auditorium.
e. Declaration of vacancy (if exist after First round of Counseling) will be notified on 12th
December 2020 at 7.00 p.m on the college website (https://rkmgec.ac.in).
f. Second round of Counseling will be held only if a vacancy exists after the first round of
counseling.
g. Second round of Counseling for Merit List-II candidates will be held on 14th December
2020 at 1.00 p.m at the college auditorium. Merit List-II candidates are directed to carefully
observe the vacancy status (After the first round of counseling) before coming to the counseling
venue. No Merit List-I candidate will be allowed to take part in the counseling process on 14
th December 2020.
h. The candidate will be called according to WBJEE -2020 GMR and after verification of the
documents he/she will get the option to choose the department based on the available vacant
seats now.
i. Candidates must produce the original mark-sheets and other certificates for verification,
without which no admission will be considered.
j. CANDIDATE MUST APPEAR IN PERSON ALONG WITH ALL NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS TO TAKE PART IN COUNSELING PROCESS. After the scheduled time, no
candidate will be allowed to participate in the counseling process under any circumstances.
k. COUNSELING AND ADMISSION WILL BE HELD ON THE SAME DATE. NO
COUNSELING AND ADMISSION WILL BE POSSIBLE IF THE CANDIDATE IS
NOT PERSONALLY PRESENT.
l. Counseling and Admission will be closed as soon as the vacant seats are filled up. HENCE
ALL CANDIDATES MAY NOT BE CALLED FOR COUNSELING IF ALL SEATS
ARE FILLED UP BY CANDIDATES HAVING HIGHER RANKS IN WBJEE-2020. NO
FURTHER COUNSELING WILL TAKE PLACE AFTER THE DECLARED
SCHEDULE.
m. Candidates who have not taken admission in UG Engg./Tech. in Ramkrishna Mahato
Government Engineering College (i.e taken admission at other institute/not admitted to any
institute) should pay Rs10,310/- (For CSE and ECE stream) and Rs 6,810/- (For ME,
EE, CE stream) as admission fees on the date of counseling. The admission fees should be
transferred to the college bank account in online mode (via net banking, debit/credit card,
Google pay, phone pay, Paytm, Bhim, etc.) or can be submitted through Demand draft. In
special circumstances, cash payment may be considered. Therefore candidates are directed to
take preparation accordingly before coming to the counseling venue
n. Candidates who already took admission in UG 1st Year Courses in this session 2020-21 at
Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College and are willing to appear in
Decentralized Counseling for stream change will have to bring the following documents in
addition to the documents mentioned earlier :
a. Money Receipt obtained during the admission to the UG 1st Year 2020- 2021.
b. Balance amount for stream change in cash to be deposited if the candidate is
allotted a seat during Decentralized Counseling.
Note:
1. In case of any emergency college authority may take any instant decision related to the
decentralized counseling process.
2. Candidates are directed to take extreme precautions and strictly follow COVID-19 protocols
as stipulated by Govt. of West Bengal while attending the counseling process.
