About IIT Delhi
The Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi is one of the 23 IITs designated as Centers of Excellence for training, research, and development in science, engineering, and technology in India.
The Institute, formerly known as the College of Engineering, changed its name to “Indian Institute of Technology Delhi” in 1963 after being recognized by the Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act as an Institution of National Importance. Following that, it was given the title of “Deemed University,” which gave it the power to set its own academic standards, oversee its own tests, and award its own degrees.
In 2018, the Indian government named the Institute the “Institute of Eminence.” Since its founding, IIT Delhi has graduated more than 56,000 students in a variety of disciplines, including engineering, the physical and social sciences, management, and management. Of these students, 18,614 graduated with a B.Tech. and 6,353 with a Ph.D.

About IIT Paid Summer Internships and Free Certificates
Faculty fellows from various engineering and scientific schools and institutions are being sought by IIT Delhi in order to spend the summer (May–July) undertaking research under the guidance of an IIT Delhi faculty mentor.
The objective is to support and equip the faculty fellows for carrying out research. In addition to getting exposure to top-notch research backed by top-notch resources, the faculty fellow will have the option to work and engage with the IITD faculty mentor and his or her research students. The SFRF program serves as a catalyst for people who are considering continuing their studies (Master/Ph.D.) at IIT Delhi in the near future. Each year, from May through July, the SFRF program may run between six and six weeks.

About the Selection Process:
The chosen candidates (faculty fellows) may take advantage of paid campus housing (in hostels with basic amenities), subject to availability, from Tuesday, May 16, 2023, to Friday, July 14, 2023. The cost is Rs. 750 per day (including meals), plus Rs. 50 per day for bedding, for a total of about Rs. 800 per day. A sharing basis will be used for allotment.
Eligibility:
- The faculty fellow should be a regular faculty member. Preference will be given to those who plan to enroll in graduate school (Master/Ph.D.) soon.
Important Notes:
- February 28, 2023.
- April 14, 2023 (Tentative).
- 6 weeks at the least, and 8 weeks at the most.
